Frequently asked questions
How do I view a CSV file online?
Choose or drop a UTF-8 CSV or TSV file, paste CSV text, or try the sample. Select Open table to view pasted data. The delimiter is detected automatically, or you can choose it yourself.
Can I edit CSV cells without Excel?
Yes. Click a cell and type plain text, including line breaks. You can edit headers, add or delete rows and columns, and undo your last 20 changes. There are no formulas, calculations, or automatic number and date conversions.
Is my CSV uploaded or stored?
No. CSV parsing, searching, editing, and export happen in your browser. This tool does not upload your data or save it to browser storage. Download your work before closing or refreshing the page.
What are the free limits?
Files and pasted input are limited to 1 MiB, 10,000 rows including the optional header, 100 columns, and 100,000 cells. Edited exports also have a 1 MiB limit. There is no account requirement or hourly quota.
Which CSV formats are supported?
Use UTF-8 text with comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe separators. Quoted fields, escaped double quotes, and multiline cells are supported. Uneven rows are padded with empty cells, never truncated. Excel workbooks (.xlsx) and legacy text encodings are not supported.
Does downloading include filtered or sorted rows?
Download always includes all rows in their original order, with your edits. Search and alphabetical sorting only change the view. Output uses UTF-8, your detected separator, and standard CSV quoting. Leading zeros and formula-like text stay unchanged; spreadsheet apps may interpret formula-like text when opened.
