How to convert Peppol XML to PDF
Peppol is an electronic document exchange network used across Europe and beyond. Its invoice XML is designed for software; this tool makes a copy people can read.
- 01
Paste or import
Use one UBL 2.1 invoice or credit note. Import a UTF-8 .xml file up to 1 MiB or paste up to 500000 characters.
- 02
Choose the output
Open PDF settings to name your file and choose A4 or US Letter, then select Convert Peppol XML to PDF.
- 03
Download the PDF
The server-side PDF renderer returns your readable copy. Keep the original XML for electronic invoicing and your records.
A readable invoice, not raw XML.
Designed for UBL 2.1 Invoice and CreditNote documents used in Peppol BIS Billing 3.0. For the format and billing rules, see the official Peppol BIS Billing documentation.
Invoice details
Seller and buyer, invoice dates and references, line items with quantities, prices and VAT, tax breakdowns, payment details, and notes.
Declared amounts
Document-level allowances and charges, and declared totals including prepaid amounts and rounding. Values are displayed from the XML, not recalculated or audited.
Checks, not certification
Well-formed XML and required-field checks help catch conversion errors. They are not full Peppol or EN16931 compliance validation.
Known limits
Both the 500000-character and 1 MiB file limits apply to imports. Up to 1,000 lines per document and 50 conversions per hour. No digital signature processing or attachment extraction.
Supported formats and output
| Input | One UTF-8 UBL 2.1 Invoice or CreditNote XML document, including Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 documents |

Need to print the XML tags themselves? Use the ordinary XML to PDF converter for formatted XML or original source text.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a Peppol invoice to PDF for free?
Paste your UBL invoice XML or import a UTF-8 .xml file. Choose a filename and page size, then convert and download the PDF. No signup is needed; the limit is 50 conversions per hour.
Can I convert credit notes as well as invoices?
Yes. The tool reads UBL 2.1 Invoice and CreditNote documents used in Peppol BIS Billing 3.0. It produces a readable document layout rather than printing the source tags.
Does a successful conversion prove Peppol compliance?
No. Parsing and required-field checks are not full Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 or EN16931 validation. The tool does not recalculate amounts, verify digital signatures, or certify your invoice. Use a dedicated compliance validator for those checks.
Does the PDF replace the XML or send my invoice through Peppol?
No. The PDF is a human-readable copy, not a replacement for the original electronic invoice XML. This converter does not send anything through the Peppol network, and it cannot turn a PDF into UBL XML.
Can I use CII, Factur-X, or XRechnung files?
CII XML, Factur-X, and XRechnung CII are outside this tool’s scope. UBL-based XRechnung may render if its fields fit the supported UBL structure, but XRechnung support and compliance are not guaranteed. Embedded attachments are not extracted.
Is my invoice processed in the browser or saved?
Conversion is server-side: your XML is processed on our servers, and extracted invoice content is sent to the PDF renderer for the live request. This tool does not save input or output files. See the privacy policy for general site practices.
Can I use the converter without JavaScript?
Yes. Paste XML or choose a file and submit the form normally. With JavaScript enabled, file import fills the editor and conversion shows progress, errors, and a Download again button.
